Yoga at Antara Studios

About Yoga

Yoga dates back over 5,000 years, originating in northern India and rooted in key Hindu and Buddhist texts. By the 19th century, the practice had spread to the West, and in the early 20th century the Modern Yoga Renaissance reshaped the practice and gave rise to influential styles such as Ashtanga and Iyengar yoga. Today, yoga is practised by an estimated 300 million people worldwide.

Yoga unites the body, mind and breath through asana (postures), pranayama (breathwork), and dhyana (meditation). It supports a wide range of physical, mental and emotional benefits — from strength and flexibility to peace and clarity.
